Pop-Punk & Pizza Podcast #154: A Few Too Many

Today, we are taking a trip across the pond to Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom to talk with a band called, A Few Too Many. It was truly an honor to talk with them earlier this month because I thoroughly believe they are going to be one of the next biggest pop punk bands to come out of the UK. Members Bobby Hardy, Danny Freeman, and Luke D’Alton join me for this one. Their new single, “History”, is due out Friday, March 5th via Lost Music Collective.

Much Love,

Jacques LaMore

Pop-Punk & Pizza #140: Darren Vorel of TLB

Darren Vorel, lead vocalist and guitarist of TLB.

This episode of Pop-Punk & Pizza Podcast is sponsored by melodic punk band, Hangtime! The band’s two most recent EPs, DESTROY! And INVASION, are being pressed onto one vinyl LP, which you can pre-order now via Say-10 Records (United States) and Dental Records (Canada).

#140: Darren Vorel of TLB

Darren Vorel is one of the coolest and nicest guys in the Chicago punk rock scene that you’ll ever meet. At least, that was my experience with him when we recorded this episode of Pop-Punk & Pizza together. When I was doing research on Darren, I not only discovered he was the lead vocalist of the band TLB, but also of a band called, The Scissors. On top of that, Darren is also an accomplished artist in painting, graphic design, photography, and even has a podcast of his own called, Remainders. Darren and I talk about all those subjects and more. Hope you enjoy this one. Thanks for your time, Darren!

TLB’s latest album, “Blood and Sand”, is available now via Humans Were Here Records.

Much Love,

Jacques LaMore

Pop-Punk & Pizza #121: Loren Israel

One of my top ten favorite albums of all time is, “Bleed American”, by Jimmy Eat World. In my eyes, it’s a masterpiece. So when I learned that producer/A&R executive, Loren Israel, was apart of that album, I had to talk to him. Not only did Israel help develop Jimmy Eat World, he also worked with Less Than Jake, Plain White T’s, and Neon Trees. On this episode, Loren and I talk about his days at Capital Records, singles versus albums, songwriting, and more. I gained a new perspective on somethings after talking with, Loren. I learned some new things as well.

Loren still follows his passion of developing artists. If you’re interested in any of his consulting services, send him an email: lorenisrael@gmail.com.

Pop-Punk & Pizza #112: stop.drop.rewind

Left to Right: Andy, DJ, and Kris of stop.drop.rewind.

When I was in, The Projection, we played at lot of shows with a band from Northwest Indiana called, stop.drop.rewind. I haven’t seen them since we last played together in 2013 at a house party in the Westville, Indiana area. So it was great catching up with the guitarist, DJ Crenson , and bassist, Kris Lohn, after all this time! We talked about their latest pop punk fueled single, “Space Force”, which is packed with fun and satire. Yes, the song pokes fun at President Trump’s Space Force and it’s hilarious. Thanks for being on, DJ and Kris!

Pop-Punk & Pizza #109: Bonnie Fraser of Stand Atlantic

One of my favorite bands to come out of the pop punk scene in the last five years is, Stand Atlantic. Nothing quite beats their crunchy guitar hooks, catchy honest lyrics, and Bonnie Fraser’s incredibly versatile vocals. On this episode, Bonnie and I discuss their latest album, “Pink Elephant”, and she answers a few fan questions. Thanks for being on the podcast, Bonnie! It was truly a privilege.
