Left to Right: Andy, DJ, and Kris of stop.drop.rewind.
When I was in, The Projection, we played at lot of shows with a band from Northwest Indiana called, stop.drop.rewind. I haven’t seen them since we last played together in 2013 at a house party in the Westville, Indiana area. So it was great catching up with the guitarist, DJ Crenson , and bassist, Kris Lohn, after all this time! We talked about their latest pop punk fueled single, “Space Force”, which is packed with fun and satire. Yes, the song pokes fun at President Trump’s Space Force and it’s hilarious. Thanks for being on, DJ and Kris!
stop.drop.rewind is a progressive/powerpop band from Valparaiso, IN. Members Kris Lohn and DJ Crenson have been playing together since 2000, and, as they’re 25, this means they’ve been in bands continuously for well over half their lives. After relocating to Indiana for college, they decided to scrap the delay-drenched “experimental” format that was theirs, like many others at the time. In a bid to land more gigs, they decided to try a stripped-down, listener-friendly rock/poppunk approach. At the same time, Lohn was avidly pursuing a degree in jazz bass, with heavy study in classical theory. stop.drop.rewind is what happens with 2 emo kids grow up and get jazz degrees.
stop.drop.rewind has released 2 EP’s, “Part of the Whole” (2012) and “Smoke Signals” (2014), and toured regionally since 2012. They have played in 10 states, and opened for The Misfits, Hawthorne Heights, Amber Pacific, Real Friends, among many.
